This 32-room lodge was built using a combination of traditional native materials and architecture and modern day eco-lodge technology. The walls dividing each guest room are build using cane. The side of the guestroom that looks out to the forest does not have a wall or screening of any kind, acting as a large window facing the forest. Each guestroom has a private bathroom with The lodge consists of four wings connected by raised boardwalks to a central, two story common area which serves as a lobby, dining room, bar and lounge, providing great canopy views of the surrounding... forest.
Tambopata National Reserve harbors some of the wildest, least impacted habitats in the world. The reserve is home to 1,300 species of birds including 32 species of parrots, 200 species of mammals, 90 species of amphibians and 10,000 species of vascular plants. From Refugio Amazonas explore clay licks to view parrots and parakeets, paddle around Lake Condenado on a catamaran looking for wildlife such as hoatzin, caiman or horned screamers and climb the 30-metre high canopy tower to enjoy spectacular views of the vast forest and spot toucans, parrots, macaws and other birds. There is also a variety of optional activities available too.
