Idyllic riverside retreat
The accommodation is fashionably rustic with all chalets built on stilts under traditional thatch with uninterrupted views of the river. All five chalets are open fronted to the river with canvas blinds. Each room has a full size mosquito net, fan and private bathroom. The lounge and dining area is a perfect place to relax, put your feet up and enjoy... the view, whilst the rock plunge pool is perfect to cool down in hot weather. Chundukwa has a heart for home-cooking using as much local produce from their own vegetable garden (if the elephants don’t eat it first!) and the neighbouring farms.
The lodge is on a 300 acre property consisting of riverine forest, mopane and teak woodland, shared by the elephants in the dry months from May to Nov, and the lodges horses, that are stabled nearby, throughout the year. You are welcome to walk, explore and enjoy the animals accompanied by one of the Chundukwa team to ensure your safety.
And of course all the adrenalin activities on offer at the Falls themselves are on your doorstep and transfers to and from ’town’ can be arranged.
