Formerly the family home of Singita founder Luke Bailes’ grandfather, Singita Castleton is an exclusive use lodge, steeped in history, capturing the spirit of the original Castleton house, with authenticity and a sense of heritage.

Set within 45,000 acres of private reserve, Singita Castleton consists of a main house with communal living spaces, and six individual cottages within the grounds, catering for up to 12 people. Its team of staff includes a private guide, tracker, chef, and housekeeper who are all ready to ensure your every wish is catered for.

The lodge has been designed to combine the best elements of a private safari lodge with the rustic charms of a country farmhouse. Set overlooking a waterhole where animals regularly gather to drink, you will feel closely connected with nature, yet enjoy the added benefit of extensive high-end facilities, including a vast garden, swimming pool, wine cellar, gym, tennis court and spa treatment room.

The courtyard provides the perfect spot to gather around the traditional ‘boma’ and relax with friends and family but the privacy of individual cottages allows for quiet relaxation should you prefer. Throughout, the lodge is decorated in neutral colours, rich linens and natural materials with botanical art references, luxurious bedding, country furniture and flagstone floors all adding to the sense of heritage and nostalgia.

Singita Castleton sits within the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve, adjacent to the Kruger National Park. It spans more than 45,000 acres and is renowned for high concentrations of big game and frequent leopard sightings. Games drives and walking safaris (over 16 years only) will ensure some spectacular encounters. You may also wish to visit local communities, go mountain biking, join a star gazing safari, try your hand at archery or join in the informal cooking/baking classes in lodge’s kitchen.
