River exploration - Ecuadorian Amazon

Anakonda Amazon Cruises

The Anakonda is the only luxury ship in the Ecuadorian Amazon Rainforest.  It was built to make the experience of the Amazon the most comprehensive and unique adventure possible!  Choose from 3, 4 and 7 night sailings.

Its eighteen air-conditioned, ensuite suites feature ample sitting areas, large, comfortable beds, panoramic windows and private balconies.  When passengers are not out on jungle explorations they can enjoy the comforts of the common reading room, enjoy a drink in the alfresco lounge, take a dip in the outdoor Jacuzzi or take in the beautiful scenery from the observation deck.  Dine on refreshing and irresistible tropical cuisine, from adventurous Ecuadorian dishes as you share tales of your adventures with fellow guests.

The Ecuadorian portion of the Amazon Basin is rich and exciting. The Yasuní National Park, a small territory with unmatched biodiversity numbers, has more species of trees in a single hectare than in all of Europe.  On guided jungle excursions seek monkeys, Pink River dolphins, Brazilian Tapir, parrots, macaws, and caiman.  Explore the region on jungle treks, paddling adventures in kayaks, motorized canoes and on visits to local communities.

Discover the wilds of the Ecuadorian Amazon rainforest in style with Anakonda River Cruise.

Fly from Quito to Coca before transferring to the dock to take a 90 minute motorized canoe journey down the river. Board the Anakonda, explore the ship and set sail. After dinner enjoy a nighttime forest walk.

Rise early to visit Yasuni National Park – home to the legendary pink dolphin. Also in the area look out for anacondas, river turtles, various primate species and many birds. In the afternoon take a motorized canoe to the home of giant otters and the elusive manatee, and enjoy a hike in the forest.

Visit an authentic Kichwa family on the banks of the Napo River. Board the Anakonda for lunch and participate in a cooking class. Try handicrafting or enjoy the onboard facilities such as the rainforest spa, the Amazon Hot Tub, or perhaps cocktails from the bar and lounge.

Relax in the morning before disembarking to explore the forest and its myriad of animals and plant species endemic to the Amazon basin. In the afternoon visit a canopy tour and take in its views before in the evening taking a canoe onto the river to search for black caimans by flashlight.

This is where the adventure ends. Enjoy the final part of the return journey, then disembark to take the 90 minute motorized canoe boat ride back to Coca.

The climate in the Ecuadorian Amazon rainforest never undergoes drastic changes. Temperatures rage from 26 – 25 degrees celsius year-round. Because of the location close to the equator, the sun rises and sets at the same time daily. The cooler dry season is typically June – September and the warmer wet season October – May. Regardless of the season, expect some rain but always an abundance of wildlife.

Multiple departure dates available. 4D|3N voyages operate Sun-Wed whilst the 5D|4N voyages operate Wed-Sun and 8D/7N voyages operate either Wed-Wed or Sun-Sun.
