12 UNFORGETTABLE DAYS
DAY 1-2 | NAIROBI | 2 NIGHTS
Arrive into Nairobi, then transfer to the unique Emakoko Lodge on the edge of the Nairobi National Park. You are here for a 2 night adventure to kick off your Kenya safari. You’ll have time to go on safari in Nairobi National Park as well as visit highlights in Nairobi, such as the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to feed the orphaned baby elephants, the Giraffe Centre and the Karen Blixen Museum.
DAY 3-5 | MASIA MARA | 3 NIGHTS
This morning you will join a light aircraft charter flight into Kenya’s iconic Masai Mara. Here, you will stay in the Mara North Conservancy at one of Alex Walker’s family friendly Camps. The benefit of Alex Walker’s camps, in addition to sensational camps, service and food, is all guides are trained by Alex and each booking (or family) has their own ‘private’ safari vehicle and dedicated guide – it doesn’t get much better than this. Sensational game is par for course here, as the Masai Mara is Kenya most prolific reserve and home to the annual wildebeest migration which flows across the Mara plains between July and October each year.
DAY 6-8 | LAIKIPIA | 3 NIGHTS
Join a further charter flight, to the central north, to the Laikipia region, to spend 3 nights at Ol Malo. Being a family run operation, with multiple generations and children of their own, the Francombe’s are not short of ways to ‘entertain’ and ‘educate’ children. Kid friendly experiences can include a night in bunk beds at the Leopard hide – perfectly safe, but close to all the action at the waterhole, spotting leopard and other animals through the night. Other activities, in addition to 4WD safaris, include splashing around in the infinity pool, collecting eggs (chicken), milking cows or even joining the kindergarten (on-site) with the local Samburu tribe’s children.
DAY 9-11 | MATTHEW RANGES | 3 NIGHTS
Today you will take another charter flight further north this time, to the Namunyak Wildlife Conservancy in the Matthew’s Ranges. The Conservancy is 850,000 acres of raw, spectacular wilderness and home to elephant, leopard, giraffe, endangered wild dog and kudu. It is also famous for the Samburu people who call this land home and the ‘singing well’s’. At the camps waterhole you might expect to see elephant, buffalo, impala, wild dog and giraffe and the 2 bedroom family tent even has it’s own plunge pool and private dining here. With conservation and local engagement at its core, the learning possibilities here are endless and also include hikes in the cloud forest, the Reteti Elephant Sanctuary, school visits and thrilling bush meals.
DAY 12 | DEPART
Bid farewell to the exceptional staff and your guide at Sarara, before joining a final charter flight back to Nairobi, followed by a short road transfer to Kenyatta International airport to join your onward international flight connection.
